American Battery Solutions has a full-time opening for a Director, Manufacturing Engineering in Springboro, Ohio. Job Summary The Director, Manufacturing Engineering, is responsible for all aspects of manufacturing engineering, planning and execution activities required to meet customer and business plan requirements. This role is responsible for ensuring that key priorities within manufacturing engineering are executed on time and within budget. Responsibilities * Lead the manufacturing engineering team activities for new product development launch, production volumes increase, implement performance, cost, quality, and consistency improvements in products and processes during and after the design phase. * Manage team responsible for the manufacturing evaluation of new product concepts (DFA), creation of manufacturing plans, and estimations of production costs for the facility. * Develop future capability for facilities, equipment, and workforce to ensure capacity meets business needs. * Champions lean manufacturing activities and continuous improvement projects such as cost reduction and efficiency improvement. * Determine Capital Expenditures (Cap-EX) and value adds for new projects, scenario planning, and acquisition projects; managing budget, compliance, and ensuring manufacturing operations run to plan. * Responsible for Equipment & Tooling Readiness/Documentation and all safety standards. * Manage plant engineering expenditures, labor costs, and departmental budgets to meet manufacturing engineering objectives. * Responsible for maintaining and improving all factory processes and related metrics. * Lead new product and process introduction. * Address customer issues related to or resulting from the manufacturing process. * Develop managers and engineers to improve their abilities and skills. * Adhere to federal and state regulations. * Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures. * Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. * Predictable and reliable attendance. Position Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Minimum of fifteen (15) years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing facility. * Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience. * Working experience with Quality & Reliability disciplines (FMEA, DFA, DFM, DVP&R, Six-Sigma, APQP, 8D). * Working knowledge of PLC, HMI's, relays, contactors, servos, steppers, low voltage circuits, high voltage circuits, torque drivers, bar code systems, database storage, and vision systems such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, Bosch Rexroth, OpCon, Cognex). * Experience with quality management systems. * Knowledge and experience with TS 16949 and ISO 14001. * Ability to manage change and priorities and coordinate/realign project resources as necessary. * Thorough knowledge of Theory of Constraints with demonstrated implementation. * Strong technical and communication skills. * Working knowledge of machine electrical cabinet layout and machine controls. * Computer skills including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD.
