Wheatland Bank Operations Support Specialist - BSA in Spokane, Washington

About The Role POSITION SUMMARY: The BSA Operations Support Specialist will serve as the main BSA contact for Wheatland Bank and will coordinate and direct the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of the Bank division's day-to-day compliance with BSA/AML/CFT/OFAC requirements. Is required to have an understanding and working knowledge of banking operations including teller functions, new accounts, wire transfers, electronic banking, and lending, including letters of credit. Has the authority to work closely with other senior management team members to communicate and implement necessary actions across product and department lines. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITES AND DUTIES: Reviews Clients for CIP, ADD, CDD, and EDD. Distributing exception reports to applicable division staff for corrective action. Following-up to assure corrections are made. Work with Corporate BSA department to investigate transactions that are suspicious in nature. Providing for initial review of CTR reports. Providing verification of Monetary Instrument Log. Assisting with reviews of High Risk Customers, and any other client designated as requiring additional monitoring. Acting as a conduit between CBSAT and the division customer in regard to: Initial CTR exemptions and annual reviews. MSB reviews and revocations. Independent ATM Owner/Operator reviews. Any other client requiring division assistance or interaction. Assuring OFAC reviews are completed for new accounts and division transactions. Assisting the Corporate BSA Department in ensuring division employees receive BSA training within 30 days of start date, additionally new front-line employees are required to complete BSA training before working on their own. Providing targeted training as requested or required by the Corporate BSA Team. Keeping the consolidated training tracker up to date with non-learning management system training completed in the division. Participating in ongoing BSA training Will ensure that; The direction of the Corporate BSA Officer is followed. Policy and procedure revisions are reviewed, understood, and clearly communicated to division employees. Risk assessment is reviewed, and suggested changes communicated to the CBSAO during the time of the review. Recordkeeping requirements are followed on all BSA/AML/CFT/OFAC related areas Support is given to internal auditors during the audit process. Exam requests are handled timely. Prepares monthly reports and BSA Status reports, sends to CFO to present at Wheatland Bank board meetings Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job. Must comply with company policy and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Asset Control. Additional duties as requested or assigned. About You REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or Equivalent Two years of similar or related banking experience, including time spent in preparatory position PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school desired.
