Job Purpose:
The Coordinator of the Office of a Pedagogy of Hope Through Research and Practice (PoH) in the School of Education (SOE) will manage the daily operations of the PoH Office. This means overseeing a team of graduate assistants (GAs), coordinating the public relations, contract and budget details of PoH events, managing the creation of the end-of-the-year report, and seeking new opportunities for collaboration with Gonzaga faculty, staff and students, and the Spokane community. The coordinator will provide direction for the PoH in conjunction with the Dean of the School of Education, the Faculty Director for the PoH, the SOE Advisory Board, University Advancement and the Diversity and Social Justice Committee.
Essential Functions:
20% - Management and Operations
- Provide updates and consults with Faculty Director, SOE Dean, Diversity and Social Justice Committee as appropriate, regarding PoH Office initiatives and developments.
- Develop and maintain organizational processes and systems, including office procedures and project workflows for events, resource development, and other mission-aligned initiatives.
- Engage in ongoing process development and improvement, updating manuals, graphics, organizational files, and other materials and systems to reflect modifications.
- Develop educational resources (critical pedagogy, topics addressed in previous events, etc.) for SOE and Gonzaga University (GU) students, faculty, and staff in partnership with appropriate specialists.
- Assist Dean with developing and maintaining relationships with potential and current partners at GU and in the community via driving to organizations.
- Ensure a cohesive image and message across SOE and GU website and social media, publications, etc. in partnership with appropriate specialists in the SOE and Gonzaga's Marketing & Communication Department (MarCom).
- Collaborate with University Advancement, SOE Dean, and Faculty Director to support the ongoing recruitment of PoH Office donor funds. Collaborate with the SOE Budget Officer, Dean, and Faculty Director to provide continual oversight of office spending and fiscal health.
40% - Projects and Initiatives
Serve as point of contact for potential projects, events, and research initiatives, discussing possibilities with interested parties in conjunction with the Dean and Faculty Director.
Review, coordinate, and track project proposals from external and internal partners seeking to collaborate with the PoH Office.
Serve as the primary lead for the planning and execution of approved projects.
Coordinate the PoH Office's annual call for proposals, facilitating the review process, project funding, and follow-up stages.
Coordinate all logistical (fiscal, personnel, materials, etc.) aspects of large and small-scale events (e.g., conferences, university-wide trainings, Hope Dialogues and Talks) initiated internally or requested by internal and external partners.
Coordinate cross-unit collaboration inside and outside of the SOE to support PoH-aligned initiatives.
