The Interlibrary Loan Specialist coordinates worldwide borrowing, lending, and digital document delivery. Provides Library circulation services. Provides ready reference services in absence of professional staff. Following established guidelines, uses initiative and work experience to maintain workflow. When called upon to do so, maintains safety and security of the library.]{calibri=""}**

  • Evaluates and processesILLborrowing requests from Upstate patrons and directs digital and physical delivery of requested materials. Evaluates and processesILLlending requests, handles digitization and transmission of electronically requested items, handles packaging and delivery of physical materials, and answers questions from borrowing libraries regarding lent items. Regularly communicates with colleagues from other libraries
  • Provides circulation services including charging and discharging books and reserve materials using the Shared Library Services Platform; maintains patron records; collects and receipts money; opens and closes the library as required. When responsible for the library, coordinates security with Public Safety Department.
  • Shares in processing materials as needed, problem resolution, searching for missing items, assisting patrons with directional questions.
  • Assists with print and electronic library reserves.
  • Shares in stack maintenance services including shelving, shifting, and shelf reading.
  • Assists patrons with technology problems, troubleshoots problems with online account access, reports printing problems. Maintains toner and paper supplies to printers.
  • Assists patron with the online catalog and reference collection.

**Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma and 1 year of library experience. Successful background check is required.

**Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma and 2 years library experience

Salary: $34,532 - $37,743; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
