Purpose of Role

As a Distribution House Supervisor Maintenance, you will oversee the activities of the assigned department to achieve department goals, safety, quality, cost, and delivery. You will be responsible for delegating tasks and leading the execution of department and building goals. This involves driving a safety culture while ensuring secure storage of inventory and accurate, timely shipment of customer orders at minimal cost. Distribution House Supervisors drive department performance and accountability while enforcing Under Amour’s Core Competencies.

Your Impact

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Direct the MHE maintenance activities to accomplish our department goals of Safety, Preventative maintenance, and cost management while providing superior customer service to Distribution Operations.

  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and teaching of mechanic performance and responsibilities.

  • Ensures all Leads and Mechanics follow SOPs, Safety, Operational and Company guideline/policies.

  • Plans and assigns specific work projects to maintenance mechanics and support personnel for all shifts.

  • Prioritizes & schedules maintenance of equipment and activities based on PM schedule & /or production needs.

  • Researches and implements new maintenance methods, systems and products that can increase reliability, performance, efficiency and/or cost savings.

  • Works closely with Managers to drive a culture of safety, including safety committees, observations, employee engagement, and positive employee relationships.

  • Provide technical expertise in the construction, operations and maintenance of distribution systems.

  • Responsibilities include on call duties and assistance during emergency situations.

  • Be proficient in the repair and maintenance of all types of motors and reducers used in the assigned area.

  • Ability to trouble-shoot electrical controls (motor circuits, process or packaging machinery, and programmable controllers) using drawings, documentation, and required tools.

  • Determines parts requirements and availability. Retrieves parts, maintains parts/stock area, and submits requests to reorder. Determines reasonable substitutions for parts that are unavailable.

  • Performs routine maintenance of systems based on machine PM requirements. Maintains an accurate record of all PM activities.

  • Ensure and repair that all safety systems are functioning properly on all machines.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing daily work assignments; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

Directly supervises para-professional employees as team lead.

Ability to set day-to-day operational objectives for team.

Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders.

Knowledge in the operation that will allow flexibility in assisting cross-functionally throughout the Distribution House.

General knowledge of conveyor operation

Experience in the apparel industry strongly preferred.

Highly skilled with database/spreadsheet programs, and specifically MS Office programs (MSWord, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Experience with MRP software package is required. (WMI, SAP, FMS)

Bachelor’s degree or trade school preferred; 5 years industrial plant maintenance technician experience comparable to level III in a distribution or warehouse environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of warehouse management systems; warehouse control systems, Excel, running reports and interpreting and communicating data/metrics.

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; ability to follow detailed instructions both written and verbally; ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures; ability to apply concepts of basic math. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle multiple large projects and programs concurrently.

Prefer a working knowledge of government regulations pertaining to warehouse operations as required by OSHA.

Able to operate and trained on all arial equipment, such as boom lift and scissor lift.

The essential functions of the job are usually performed indoors and may rarely be performed outdoors, including during both hot and cold weather. Work performed will be near or involving moving mechanical equipment. Work may be performed at heights of up to 50 feet.

Frequent or continuous standing, lifting, walking and bending.

Regularly handles objects, tools, and/or controls; reaches with arms; uses cutting device to open or break down cartons.

May frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds overhead.

Vision abilities depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Able to withstand temperatures in a typical warehouse environment.

Base Compensation
