As a Production Technician II, you will be using your skills and expertise to perform a variety of our production assembly operations tasks on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables while working from diagrams and drawings. You'll be responsible for disassembling, modifying, reworking, reassembling, and testing experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies. You'll make continuity checks and quality inspections on work in process and/or completed on the processing line.

As a Production Technician, you will be using your skills and expertise to perform a variety of our production assembly operations tasks on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables while working from diagrams and drawings. You'll be responsible for building new assemblies and occasionally disassembling, modifying, reworking, reassembling, and testing experimental or prototype assemblies. You'll make continuity checks and quality inspections on work in process and/or completed on the processing line.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical/electrical assembly from engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and other production documentation

  • Ability to interpret and work from drawings, manuals, handbooks and technical specifications

  • Experience with circuits and wiring assemblies and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and consistently

  • Perform simple tests such as continuity checks. Install and Integrate wiring, and termination in accordance with system requirements

  • Ability to terminate various coaxial, circular, and D-type connectors

  • Have good hand eye coordination and be able to use a variety of standard hand tools including crimpers and soldering irons

  • Inspect assembly work for self and other team members per appropriate standards

  • Work with engineers to identify issues with new products and improve them. Knowledge of proper ESD controls

  • Must be detail and quality oriented

Must-haves:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience

  • A higher level degree may substitute for experience

  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education and certifications

  • Basic understanding of technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications and manufacturing principles

  • Experience in a manufacturing, production or warehouse environment

  • Prior experience with electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies

  • Basic skills in assembly, soldering, and connectors

Preferred:

  • OSHA 10-Hour Training certification

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military

  • IPC J-STD-001 and 620 certifications

  • Computer literate with experience in Windows and Office products

  • Electronic component identification knowledge

  • Experience with PPE (personal protection equipment)

  • Able to work in an organized, clean work environment to 5S standards

  • Military electronic assembly background
