In Abbvie’s Business Technology Solutions team, we are driving the digital transformation shaping and accelerating the future of medicine. We are looking for a Senior Manager, IR Site Operations who is driven to help us use technology and data to transform patients’ lives. The Senior Manager, IR (Information Research) Site Operations at Abbvie is responsible for driving innovation and efficiency in the delivery of Information Research solutions. They will collaborate with various teams to ensure the successful planning, funding, procurement, provisioning, and retirement of information systems solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of technology portfolio and project management processes and tools, as well as the ability to provide consulting and support to stakeholders. The Senior Manager will represent IR Site Leadership and provide excellent customer service to clients. They should possess strong pharmaceutical and technology business acumen, emotional intelligence, and curiosity. This role offers the opportunity to challenge the status quo and reshape process to enable bringing new therapeutics to patients faster and smarter.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with assigned IR Site Leader stakeholders to understand specific business processes and objectives, supporting short and long-term strategic planning, solution discovery, and vendor relationship management.

  • Manage the business with functional and project capital/expense responsibility, consistently executing against financial targets.

  • Ensure resources are available to meet the long-range operational demands of the IR Site(s), including appropriate functional and project capital/expense budget and identification of opportunities for cost avoidance and cost reductions.

  • Monitor and report program and project cost performance; prepare monthly meeting presentations with cross-functional partners and assist in communicating status to BTS and business leadership, governance teams and colleagues. Effectively leverage established PPM practices and tools (e.g., Clarity, Jira).

  • Provide internal operational finance/P2P coaching and consultation to BTS colleagues.

  • Act as conduit between Site resources and HQ (Lake County) to cascade information related to IR process changes, Finance and Purchasing updates, and other pertinent communications.

  • Establish and maintain strategic level working relationships with all levels in BTS, and business, and selected external partners and suppliers.

  • Represents BTS Information Research by promoting AbbVie BTS’s strategic vision, operating tenants, and strategic imperatives.

  • Responsible for compliance with all applicable AbbVie Corporate (e.g., Finance, Purchasing, OEC, Legal), BTS, Quality and GxP policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for working with external vendors to fully support AbbVie’s PSM process.

Tools and skills you will use in this role:

  • Budget cycle planning and execution

  • Familiarity with RCE, RFP, P2P, and PMO enterprise processes

  • SaaS applications: / SharePoint / Smartsheet / SAP / Jira / Carity etc familiarity

  • Vendor and third party management

  • Familiarity with GxP and non-GxP

Qualifications

Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:

Required:

•Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience, master’s with 7 years of professional experience, or PhD with 3 years of professional experience.

•At least 6 years’ experience in large, complex program and project management, including information technology management, systems development, operations, and strategic systems planning and budget planning.

•At least 4 years’ direct experience in a pharmaceutical or biopharma technical department or long term project requiring knowledge of the R&D industry and drug discovery and development.

•Demonstrated excellent stakeholder management and execution of projects which required cross-functional orchestrated timelines.

•Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and influence cross-functional team members toward task completion.

•Proven ability to establish and maintain high-quality relationships with all levels across the company and with external partners.

•Excellent cross-functional negotiating skills and multi-faceted operational skills.

•Demonstrated ability to articulate and negotiate projects and priorities across functions and/or organizations; proven experience in situations of conflict resolution, problem solving and crisis management.

•Strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication (written and verbal) skills, ability to communicate to a diverse stakeholder base, ability to see alignments.

Beneficial:

•Experience presenting to executive level management preferred. Strong customer service orientation.

•Experience in leading in a multi-task environment as well as in a virtual and matrix organization, operating within broad goals and objectives.

•Solid experience in financial management as well as attention to detail and ability to adequately forecast (i.e., cost estimation) and adjust accordingly.

•Strong/demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, i.e., FDA and European Union and their impact to the organization processes and technology tools.

•Growth-mindset and positive attitude - Operate with a big picture perspective, balancing efficiency in task-execution with effectiveness to deliver on enterprise objectives while maintaining team harmony and health.
