Generac Power Systems Dealer Account Manager in South Burlington, Vermont

Job Summary: The Dealer Account Manager is responsible for managing a geographical territory in the Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE) channel selling Generac and Dr Power products. The right candidate will be tasked to both grow Generac’s market share by gaining a share of wallet within existing dealers and generating new revenue through signing new dealers. This role involves managing and growing a portfolio of existing dealers and managing a pipeline of prospective dealer partners through outbound cold calls, both internal and external referrals, and conducting market research to identify the best business opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilize internal tools and conduct market research to identify market coverage gaps to generate new business opportunities.

  • Perform outbound cold calls to promote partnerships for Generac and DR Power products.

  • Manage inbound inquiries from the OPE Territory Manager to facilitate potential partnerships.

  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective customers from inbound inquiries, market research, lead generation, and outbound call efforts.

  • Discuss and review contract paperwork with business owners to finalize dealer agreements.

  • Create tactical sales plans with short- and long-term objectives for the assigned territory.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new products and expand market share.

  • Serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries and expedite issue resolution.

  • Work with clients to develop sales and promotional strategies to drive revenue.

  • Provide product knowledge training and webinars to dealer partners.

  • Create and present channel-specific programs and promotions to key accounts.

  • Execute effective launch plans for newly onboarded dealer accounts.

  • Stay updated on product offerings and relevant content.

  • Oversee and resolve order management issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field, with at least 1 year of inside sales or equivalent experience, or 2 years of inside sales experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of sales experience

  • Previous experience or familiarity in outdoor power equipment industry

  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven experience in sales, account management and business development.

  • Ability to analyze market data and identify opportunities.

  • Ability to foster relationships and drive business growth.

  • Analytical ability to interpret key business metrics.

  • Ability and willingness to travel into assigned territory.

Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
