Description

Amanda Howell is seeking a Controller to join her client’s exceptional Finance/Accounting team in Sonoma, California. This role is critical in providing essential financial and accounting support to internal functional leaders and the Corporate Finance group.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and support the Finance & Accounting team, specifically in areas such as billing, AR, AP, GL, Inventory/Cost, and Revenue recognition.

• Manage the month-end closing process, prepare monthly financial statements, and ensure corporate reporting requirements are met.

• Responsible for the accuracy, timeliness, and approval of Balance Sheet (BS) and Income Statement (IS) back up.

• Lead the preparation of financial statements, forecasts, annual budgets, and cash flows, including monthly presentations.

• Present the monthly, quarterly, and annual Financial results to the local management team.

• Share best practices across Finance teams, focusing on process improvements, financial modeling, and producer changes.

• Monitor and implement internal controls to ensure integrity, safeguard assets, and identify areas of risk.

• Set financial targets, implement budgets, and monitor expenditures and cash flow.

• Work closely with the corporate Finance and Accounting team to monitor financial activities.

• Recognize patterns in the company’s financial performance and recommend solutions.

• Ensure compliance with local jurisdictions, including sales & tax reporting, and other reporting requirements within the United States.

• Prepare Financial results for Audit purposes; oversee annual audit.

• Ensure processes are aligned and followed in accounting and operational systems, to ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data for financial statement preparation.

• Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of accounting information; ensuring financial information is in accordance with US GAAP. Knowledge of IFRS is an asset but not required.

• Participate in the inventory physical counts and reconciliations.

• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve company goals and corporate objectives.

• Execute other ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned.

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position

• Expertise in Financial Statement Preparation, Financial Statement, and Monthly Financial Statements

• Proficiency in Cash Flow Management, Cash Flow Modeling, Cash Flow Reports, and Cash Flow Statements

• Experience with Dynamics AX and MS Dynamics AX is a must

• Demonstrated skills in Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reviews, and Income Statements

• Proven abilities in Budget Administration and Budget Management

• Knowledge of Variance Analysis and Sales Tax Returns

• Familiarity with US GAAP and IFRS Accounting

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work towards tight deadlines

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a Master's degree or CPA designation is a plus

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills

• Must have the ability to work independently and in a team setting

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to make sound decisions.
