The Opportunity: Avantor is looking for a Quality Control Lab Analyst to join our Quality Control Laboratory team. This role will be a full-time position based out of our Solon, OH (Fountain) facility. What we're looking for Education: Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology or relevant science discipline is required Experience: Minimum 2 years in a laboratory experience is required Conducting routine and non-routine chemistry and microbiological analysis of raw materials, in-process formulations and final products to established specifications Utilizing and operating laboratory equipment and instruments according to laboratory work instruction including advanced instrumentation, examples include but not limited to: UV, KF, FTIR, HPLC, GC, ICP-MS Following quality control test methods, compendia methods (USP, EP, BP, JP or ACS) Calculating data generated for compliance to specifications and reports results Recommending acceptance or rejection of materials or products based on test results Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment. Handling hazardous materials using all appropriate or mandatory safety PPE and safety equipment Completing documentation and reviewing for accuracy Wet chemistry and analytical instrument experience (ex. Acid/Base Titrations, KF, HPLC) Experience working independently How you will thrive and create an impact Conduct routine and non-routine chemistry and enzymatic analysis of raw materials, in-process formulations and final products to established specifications Use and operate laboratory equipment and instruments according to laboratory work instruction or laboratory procedures such as pH, conductivity, UV, KF, FTIR, titrations, ICP, AA, HPLC Moderate equipment troubleshooting skills Follow Quality Control test methods or compendia methods (USP, EP, BP, JP or ACS) Calculate/generate data for compliance to specifications and reports results Perform technical review of lab data forms such as water, environmental monitoring and direct measure analysis Perform data review in analytical equipment's ensuring data integrity procedures have been followed Calibrate and maintain lab equipment Enter final results and raw data for tested materials or products in LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) as needed Perform investigative analysis to support investigations, complaints or instrument troubleshooting Conduct and document investigations for laboratory out of specification results Provide new hire/ cross training as required Conduct reviews for discrepancies in data, manufacture COA, COC, and performs data verification in accordance with company procedures Handle hazardous materials using all appropriate or mandatory safety PPE and safety equipment Complete documentation and reviews for accuracy Performs other duties as assigned ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions) Typically works in an environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level. At times, may be exposed to a variety of different chemicals including flammables, corrosives, oxidizers, and others. Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems. A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis. Minimal physical effort is required.
