CNC Machinist Operator | 22-28 HR

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist Operator to join our team. The role involves setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes in a job shop environment. You will be responsible for tooling setup, adjusting speeds and feeds, program edits, offsets, changeovers, and fixtures. The position requires performing first piece inspections, measuring parts using precision tools, and ensuring parts meet blueprint specifications. You will work with a variety of machinery, including 3-axis to 5-axis machines, and will read and edit G&M codes.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes

• Set up tooling, adjust speeds and feeds, and perform program edits and offsets

• Conduct first piece inspections and measure parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and zolars

• Operate and be cross-trained on various machinery, including mills, lathes, and mill-turn machines

• Read and edit G&M codes as necessary

• Read blueprints and check parts according to specifications

• Handle run times that vary from a few minutes to several hours in a job shop environment

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of CNC Machining experience on multi-axis CNC machines (5-axis)

• Ability to perform program edits utilizing G&M codes

• Experience with live tool changes and offsets

• Proficiency in operating lathes and mills

• Familiarity with Fanuc and Haas machines

• Ability to read blueprints and perform quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and gauges

• High School Diploma or GED

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with GD&T

• CNC programming skills

Work Environment

The work environment includes a clean, well-lit, and temperature-controlled facility. Machinists typically work 46 hours per week and must be open to some overtime. Current openings include B1 Shift (Mon-Thurs 3pm-1am with a $1.25/hour shift premium), D Shift (Fri-Sat-Sun 5am-5pm with a $2.00/hour shift premium, work 36 hours, pay for 40 hours), and D Shift (Fri-Sat-Sun 5pm-5am with a $3.00/hour shift premium, work 36 hours, pay for 40 hours).

The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $58240.00/yr.
