Job Title: Assembly Technician | $21.50-$23+HR

Job Description

As an Assembly Technician, you will be working primarily in the disassembly department. This involves sandblasting, grinding, and finishing various parts. The role is physical and involves refurbishing pumps. You will be operating a water bath, handling bolts and nuts, and using hand and air tools. Your day-to-day tasks will involve following work orders for refurbishing parts for industrial vacuums and air compressors, operating overhead cranes, disassembling units to be repaired, and cleaning and inspecting all parts from disassembled pumps.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the disassembly department, sandblasting, grinding, and finishing various parts.

  • Operate a water bath to clean bolts and nuts.

  • Assist in rotating and buffing parts departments.

  • Learn the entire process and products by disassembling and refurbishing pumps.

  • Use hand and air tools.

  • Follow work orders for refurbishing parts for industrial vacuums and air compressors.

  • Operate overhead cranes.

  • Disassemble units to be repaired.

  • Clean and inspect all parts from disassembled pumps.

  • Evaluate the condition of the original parts and refurbish those to be reused.

  • Type reports to be sent to customers once repairs are determined.

  • Develop repair estimates.

  • Write technical reports describing the nature of the malfunction and measures taken to repair the equipment.

  • Diagnose and repair vane pumps, mechanical pumps, blowers, TMP’s & Dry pumps.

  • Rebuild the unit according to engineering specs, ISAs, and ISO procedures.

  • Perform maintenance on shop equipment (e.g., part washer, bead blaster).

  • Troubleshoot equipment and refurbish parts.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical assembly experience.

  • Troubleshooting skills.

  • Experience with hand tools.

  • Ability to lift 40+ lbs.

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Computer skills.

  • Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with sandblasting, painting, and water jet.

  • Experience with disassembly of motors, pumps, and compressors.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $23.25/hr.
