Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanics will be responsible for all maintenance on all industrial equipment. They will perform preventative and predictive maintenance on all equipment. They will be responsible for troubleshooting all equipment and determining any issues. They will need to be able to ensure converting equipment and lines run constantly. They will participate in manufacturing process improvement initiatives. They will perform all repairs and implement technical solutions. They need to be comfortable using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial indicators, multimeters, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all maintenance on industrial equipment

  • Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment

  • Troubleshoot equipment and determine issues

  • Ensure converting equipment and lines run constantly

  • Participate in manufacturing process improvement initiatives

  • Perform all repairs and implement technical solutions

  • Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial indicators, multimeters

Essential Skills

  • Maintenance experience

  • Hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge

  • Mechanical skills

  • Conveyor maintenance expertise

  • Experience with motors

  • 1+ years of industrial maintenance experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, 3 phase motors

  • Comfortable with changeovers, setups, fillers, pumps, and valves

  • Troubleshooting and repair skills

  • Preventive maintenance skills

  • Electrical knowledge

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Prefer 3+ years working in a GMP environment

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office

  • Minimum 5 years related manufacturing experience in FDA facility

  • Average 3 years experience in non-FDA facility

  • Previous experience in GMP or food manufacturing is a plus

Work Environment

The facility operates nearly a million square feet of production and distribution centers. The plant operates around the clock, five days a week, and distributes their products across the nation, seven days a week. It is a liquid filling facility, and candidates with a in liquid filling or packaging are preferred. Candidates from the food and beverage industry would be a plus because it is an FDA regulated facility. There are strong odors in the facility, which may vary depending on the department, such as mouthwash, lotion, alcohol, etc.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smyrna, Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
