Typically Monday – Friday 8:00 – 4:30. Will need to be available some nights and/or weekends during athletic events while implementing processes and troubleshooting issues.

Position Summary Information

Position Summary

This position supports Athletics accounting and budget analysis. It is generally responsible for multiple accounting functions including monthly and year end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, procurement guidance, and financial analysis with a focus on athletics accounting in compliance with GAAP .

This position will provide guidance or direction to athletics on proper flow of accounting, procurement, travel and University processes in compliance with public funds policy and procedures. This includes coordinating general ledger coding, reviewing and approving athletics purchases. This position will be the athletics liaison to Procurement Shared services as well as with Advancement and affiliate entities and will be responsible for ensuring restricted donations are being recorded and spent appropriately. Establishing and documenting procedures will be an important task for this position as well as establishing and implementing a plan for athletics to become cashless. Having a general understanding of NCAA Division II financial guidelines and Title IX compliance will be beneficial.

This position will be expected to help develop revenue and expense plans for each sport and Athletics Administration accounts encompassing affiliate funds and building out scholarship use. Continued monitoring of monthly budget vs actual reporting provided to coaches will be performed for analysis. The position will be expected to assist with NCAA Financial report and Agreed-Upon Procedures as needed as well as requested analytical projects surrounding athletics potential new programs, camps, or clinics.

This position will also work with technology applications in assisting athletics related ecommerce management, training, and reconciliations as well as manage the credit card readers and mobile point of sale devices. The position will assist with the event ticketing application and implementing new technology and/or ticket sale procedures. All implementations should be in alignment with the University’s strategic plan.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.

Minimum of 2 years of recent accounting or business related experience.

Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills that can be demonstrated.

Experience working with diverse populations.

Successful performance in an in-person interview and passing a criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications

SAP or large ERP software experience.

Communication and prior presentation or training experience.

Budget and Financial analysis experience preferred.

Journal entry, monthly and year end close experience preferred.

Restricted funds, reconciliation, reporting and schedule creation and maintenance experience preferred.

Athletics specific accounting a plus.
