PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Providing Financial control and stewardship for a large multi-national manufacturing operation in Sligo, Ireland.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deputise in the absence of the Plant Controller.

  • Manage a team of accounting professionals (Financial Planning & Analysis Team)

  • Prepare and coordinate Annual Plan and quarterly forecast submissions to the Core Diagnostics Division.

  • Support, Maintain and enforce site Financial Control Requirements (aligned w/ Ireland and Corporate Financial Policies)

  • Maintain site standard cost data.

  • Prepare and submit monthly reporting submissions to division, entity and site management.

  • Support preparation and accounting for Capital & Employment Grants

  • Manage and track the site Cost Improvement Programme.

  • Provide Financial Stewardship to the site through e.g. site spend management, financial awareness sessions, etc

  • Support Capital Planning, Requests for Capital Expenditure and Capital / Project Expense monitoring

EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent accountancy qualification.

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance/Accounting.

  • Minimum 6 years of Accounting or Finance experience in a similar role.

  • Financial Planning & Cost Accounting experience.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, variance analysis skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with SAP and business insight tools (e.g. Power BI, Qlikview)

  • Self-motivated & ambitious individual with strong leadership skills.
