    Job Summary

    The Director of Benefits is responsible for creating a system-wide benefits strategy that will attract and retain top talent to Avera. This includes the design, implementation and administration of health and welfare, retirement and voluntary benefits, well-being initiatives, and recognition programs. The Director, Benefits manages vendor relationships and deliverables. Develops cost control procedures to provide competitive value at the least cost while ensuring the programs are compliant with federal, state, and other regulations. Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills are necessary to be successful.

    Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelors in Human Resources or Business Management or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading benefits strategy, analysis, design and administration

  • Experience with Workday HCM is highly desired

  • Exceptional communication skills

  • Experience resolving conflicts across different groups of stakeholders; proven ability to coordinate and align a diverse set of business stakeholders on initiatives.
