Vontier Software Quality Assurance Team Leader in Simsbury, Connecticut
Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.
Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities, including tracking and reporting with appropriate metrics.
Conduct failure analysis on product issues reported.
Strong analytical skills, excellent written/oral communication.
Strong work ethic and possess the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, multi-task and adapt to an on-going, progressively changing work environment.
Verification of software and hardware interoperability for supported platform.
Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
Advocate for quality product and willing to speak up for the needs of this product.
Participate in all aspects of SQA activities for a project (full life cycle).
Own complete QA deliverables for multiple product lines or projects.
Design and develop test tools.
Coordinate overall manual test and automation test including execution by the test resources in and/or out sprint.
Lead and mentor QA team members including development through feedback, motivation and career guidance/growth.
Supervisory responsibilities may include the following:
· Staffing needs, to include interviewing and onboarding for new employees.
· Training and development, as well as coaching and motivation for staff
· Performance Management, goal setting, employee engagement.
· Workforce Management to include unit equipment, software, and space needs; approving time off and overtime usage; and budget recommendations.
o Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, computer science or information technology, or equivalent education and work experience.
o A minimum of 10 years of related work experience in Software Quality Assurance.
o Experience with Linux OS environment.
o Excellent computer skills (Windows, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
o Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
o Solid interpersonal skills.
o Experience with Python and Selenium is a plus.
o Other preferred courses/certifications: ISTQB, SAFe, CSM or CSPO
o Domain (Preferred Industry) – Automotive, Home Appliances, Consumer Electronics, Industrial, Oil and Energy, Telecommunications, Embedded, Payments.
o Experience in design and implementation of validation procedures, test plans, and test cases.
o Experience in developing, writing and managing the execution of an overall software test strategy.
o Experience in Jira, Agile and Scrum.
o Experience in IoT Cloud connectivity
o Experience in Test Automation.
