Summary

The Supervisor, Supplier Quality Engineering (SQS) is responsible for bringing about good practices and framework to set up our Supplier Quality foundation as we grow the team. The SQS would have strong technical skills and thrive in working with different suppliers to ensure they could produce great quality products at zero defects and on time. This role involves managing supplier performance, conducting quality audits, and working closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the supplier quality engineering team to ensure compliance with AS9100, AS9102, and PPAP requirements.

  • Develop and implement supplier quality strategies and initiatives in alignment with company goals.

  • Ensure suppliers adhere to quality management systems and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on supplier performance metrics.

  • Lead supplier quality team to identify areas for improvement and support in the development action plans to enhance supplier performance.

  • Support the supplier quality engineering team in the development of plans to conduct supplier audits to assess compliance with industry standards and company requirements.

  • Maintain comprehensive records of supplier performance, audit results, and corrective actions.

  • Prepare reports and presentations on supplier quality performance for management review.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with supplier quality engineering team to enhance product quality and process efficiency.

  • Support training to suppliers on quality standards and requirements.

  • Mentor and develop the supplier quality engineering team, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

  • Support new product introductions by ensuring supplier readiness and capability.

  • Set performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews for team members.

  • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure successful achievement of objectives.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field is required

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering within the aerospace industry.

  • 0-3 years of experience in a management role or leadership experience

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build credibility with, interact with, and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally as an effective business partner; well organized with solid judgment; able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities.

  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams of indirect or direct reports.

  • Experience with new product introduction.

  • Strong knowledge and proficient in applying Automotive Quality Core Tools including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

  • Strong technical experience in IPC 610/620, certified trainer is preferred.

  • Certifications for ASQ Certified supplier Quality Professional (CSQP), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified in Design for Six Sigma or similar certification is preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in an office and manufacturing environment (Constant)

  • Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent)

Special Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required.

  • Occasionally may be required to travel within the Continental U.S.

The salary range for this role is:

$88,000 - $124,740
