Maintenance Technician

Location: Sikeston, MO

Level: Hourly

Reporting to position: Department Manager

Travel: N/A

Schedule: Day Shift

Description:

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining the maintenance and minor repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, mechanical (conveying systems, etc. ) and other building systems. They will be responsible for performing various jobs inside and outside the warehouse to keep the equipment, forklifts, reach trucks, tuggers, building and grounds in proper working order.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: performing required safety inspections/ tests (safety audit items/ fire pump/ suppression systems), periodic equipment inspections (dock levelers, air compressor(s), etc.) and working with contractor services on jobs beyond their scope of work. Candidate(s) will also be required to track maintenance activities/ work orders using business systems such as Google Sheets and Softeon.

Competitive rates and compensation package. Full-time positions begin at $20.32 /hour with regular increases to $29.16 /hour. First shift operation, holidays off, no weekends.

Note: There may be some varied hours and days required to work given business needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to repeatedly lift items ranging from 40-45lbs

  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 80-100lbs

  • Must be able to assist in team lifts

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, carry, push, pull, stoop

  • Must be able to perform work at floor level, waist level or above shoulders

  • Must be able to work from heights at least 40’

  • Must be able to work in confined spaces

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.

  • At least three-five years of maintenance experience required.

  • Knowledgeable of Lockout/Tagout/Tryout (LO/TO/TO) procedures

  • Knowledgeable of Confined Space procedures

  • 10 hour OSHA Certification preferred

  • Ability to read blueprints/ schematics

  • Must possess general knowledge in maintaining and repairing warehouse equipment such as forklifts, tuggers, and conveying systems

  • Must be able to coordinate and schedule preventive maintenance of warehouse equipment

  • Ability to oversee all maintenance and repair of warehouse conveyor system

  • Must have the ability to test and understand the basic operation of the warehouse fire protection system

  • Must have basic understanding of a computer for use with recording various information and updating equipment repair information

  • Must have experience with electrical circuitry, plumbing repairs and evaporative cooling systems

  • Basic welding/ cutting skills is not required but a plus

  • Will assist in other departments as necessary

  • Able to work overtime when necessary

  • Able to flex hours of work and days to accommodate repairs, installation, modernization, and other miscellaneous projects
