What’s the job?

As the Night Manager/Assistant Night Manager, you will play a lead role in looking after our house, the

team, and our guests overnight. You will be involved in all areas of the hotel, bringing departments and

teams together to run a smooth operation overnight. Always providing excellent service by going

above and beyond to exceed expectations. As the go to person in case of an emergency, strong

knowledge of crisis management and emergency procedures for the hotel is essential.

Your day-to-day

-Lead the night team on a day-to-day basis, ensuring excellent service is provided to all guests in line with our Lobby presence to meet and greet guests, and ensure enough lobby coverage for a smooth

running operation overnight

  • Provide a warm greeting and welcome to all guests visiting the hotel whether for Jones

Café and Bar, an overnight stay, or simply to see the hotel

  • Walk through front and back of house areas, ensuring areas are presentable, maintains the

right ambiance, and that health and safety standards are met throughout

  • Complete guest check-in’s and check-out’s, and assist Instant Services with answering internal and external calls

  • Confirm reservation details on check-in, identifying opportunities for upselling

  • Ensure guest information is captured during check-in and updated on guest profile according to company standards and laws

  • Acknowledge IHG Rewards Club members. Personalising the acknowledgment based on the guest and level type

  • Maintain a warm and friendly manner with each interaction, whilst ensuring efficiency during busy times of check-in, check-out, and receiving calls

  • Ensure the same level of guest experience is maintained overnight as during the day by all team members

  • Assume the Duty Manager role and overall hotel responsibility overnight

  • Review the arrivals report in detail, identify and action any new special requests, VIPs or amenity requirements that have come overnight. Communicate these to other departments as needed etc.
