As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of roadway projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about civil engineering and infrastructure development to contribute to meaningful projects within our community. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and development of roadway designs, plans, and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers. Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant tools to produce accurate and detailed drawings and schematics. Conduct field surveys and gather data necessary for the design process, including site inspections and measurements. Collaborate with engineers and other team members to analyze design requirements and propose solutions that meet project objectives. Prepare documentation, reports, and presentations to communicate design concepts and findings effectively. Coordinate with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations. Support construction activities by providing technical assistance and resolving design-related issues as needed. Duties Required Education and Experience Associates degree or technical training or coursework in civil engineering with prior experience in roadway design or related field. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D. Experienced/Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer is a plus. Strong mathematical skills and ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week. Hours can be flexible based on circumstances. There may be a requirement for overtime based on workload. Travel No overnight travel is anticipated for this position. Some occasional local day travel may be necessary.
