Emerson Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager in Shanghai, China

Job Summary

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the manufacturing processes within the company. Be responsible for supervising and handling the engineering activities within the manufacturing facility, ensuring that products are produced to meet quality standards, production schedules, and cost objectives. The role is to collaborate with various departments to improve manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Lead and handle the manufacturing engineering team, providing guidance, mentoring, and training to ensure the team's success and professional growth.

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to optimize production efficiency, quality, and safety.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, production, and quality assurance, to develop and implement new products or processes.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational performance.

  • Supervise and analyze production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to maintain a safe and environmentally friendly work environment.

  • Handle and oversee the implementation of new equipment, technologies, and automation systems to enhance manufacturing capabilities and efficiency.

  • Develop and handle the manufacturing engineering budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost control.

  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source and evaluate new technologies, materials, and equipment to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to resolve sophisticated manufacturing issues, solve problems, and optimize production output.

  • Lead and supervise localization project.

  • Other assignments required by line manager.

For this Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

  • Shown experience in manufacturing engineering, with a minimum of 8 years in a managerial role.

  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement via 6SIGMA, 8D, SPC, LEAN manufacturing, and project management, etc.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations and equipment.

  • Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory requirements.

  • Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • English (written and spoken), Mandarin (Written and Spoken) advantageous.

  • Good communication and people management skill.

  • Self-stimulated and team-work spirit.
