Group/Division Summary: Job Title: Industrial Engineer

Report to: Facility Manager

Group / Division: Supply Chain

Location: WGQ Shanghai, China

Description:

Industrial Engineer works closely with self-run and 3PL warehouse to ensure that packaging material requirements, design, management, training, safety, quality, and continuous improvement programs are adapted to warehouse development requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the design and optimization of packaging solutions for warehouse and logistics.

  • Responsible for the planning and management of packaging materials, the packaging replacement of returned goods and the design of packaging protection solution, manage packaging material ordering, delivery tracking, quality checking to guarantee qualified packaging materials on-time delivery.

  • Create & optimize packaging inspection standard and work instruction.

  • Create requirements/specifications/packaging solution to support on packaging materials and returnable container sourcing work.

  • Control packaging related cost and prepare packaging related budget.

  • Setup & Optimize packaging material safety stock to control inventory level (especially for cold chain)

  • Lead validation for new package solution and package supplier.

  • Develop & maintain packaging specification/drawing database.

  • Resolve package issue reported by whole supply chain.

  • Lead development of packaging for new products/device/SKU

  • Lead supply chain related packaging improvement activities/projects to enhance the protection of products (especially for cold chain related improvement)

  • As a DC Operations Optimization engineer, responsible for Operation and Process Excellence projects, as well as the organization and follow-up of Productivity projects.

  • Support and involved into warehouse/logistics continue improvement projects.

  • Responsible for warehouse layout design and optimization and Productivity project, continuously improve process efficiency and utilization rate of stock to achieve the goal of cost reduction and efficiency increase.

  • Responsible for communicating with Global Vendors about incoming packaging problems and following up optimization plans.

  • Other tasks when required & support manager in related issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in packaging related major or above

  • At least 5 years of packing work experience

  • Good English (writing and oral spoken)

  • Knowledge of SAP, WMS, and office etc.

  • Knowledge or ability in operational excellence and productivity.

  • Ability to manage projects, solve packaging related problems. Manage and leverage supplier capabilities to achieve continuous improvement of packaging materials and bring innovation to the business.

  • Must be detail and customer oriented.

  • Be able to multi-task and be self-motivated.
