Diageo APAC Solution Owner - Consumer Digital Ecosystem in Shanghai, China

About this role

The Solution Owner – Regional Digital Ecosystem is a Digital Subject Matter Expert (SME) in emerging digital and ecommerce technologies and plays an integral part in understanding the Region’s marketing plans, leveraging Diageo’s global technology stack to create the regional roadmap, and overseeing the compliant delivery of the marketing assets/websites in line with agreed technical solutions, ways of working, processes and standards. This will be an 8 to 12 months fixed term contract position.

You will be responsible for:

Partner with the Business stakeholders and Digital Hub Leads in region, to gain an in depth understanding of the business goals, priorities and any market or legal constraints, which will inform the Regional Digital Solutions Roadmap.

In conjunction with the regional Business and Digital Hub Leads, create and maintain this regional Digital Solutions Roadmap, leveraging Global Solutions wherever possible.

Championing the Regional adoption and implementation of:

  • Best Practice, Global Standards and Processes(Marketing, Security, Legal and Compliance) for the delivery and support of all local/regional brand and corporate websites ensuring website delivery is are secure by design, compliant by standards. ​

  • Global Brand Solutions – requiring local market aherence as applicable when a market locale or new campaign is required.

  • Global Solutions /Digital Ecosystem and any changes/updates to it.

Where the region’s requirement cannot be initially met leveraging the current Global Solutions, then:

  • Proactively partnering with the relevant D&T Capability Leads to define the new requirements and support the teams in gathering any supplementary information as requested. OR

  • Partnering with other supporting Global and Regional Diageo Functions ( e.g. Enterprise Architects, Security Architects, Solution Architects, Data Privacy, Legal, Marketing etc) to seek an alternative ‘approved’ regional/local solution.

  • Where approval to ‘operate outside of the Global Solutions Stack’ is granted, then supporting the business in following all the mandated next steps/checklists/sub-approvals processes.

Manage any local/regional legacy solutions that have not transitioned into Global Support. For example: off-platform websites. Create and drive roadmap to bring these off platform assets back onto the Global Solution as soon as possible, either as ‘standalone’ assets or merged into ‘existing’ global assets.

Rationalization and management of Local Agencies, in line with Global Solutions, Standards and Operating Model defined by Project Hive and/or Other Diageo initiatives and models.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of product or project development experience

  • Proven track record (5 years +) of delivering digital and data driven solutions with a customer/consumer-first mindset

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Established background in launching software or services in partnership with engineering teams and high degree of proficiency in prototyping, iterative development, understanding of Agile principles

  • Experience in Consumer Execution, Direct-to-Consumer, Digital, Marketing and Retail Technologies

  • Ability to partner with and constructively influence global functions, markets, and external partners to deliver on our commitments

  • Ability to guide and lead the business and agency teams through the life cycle of the project, ensuring compliance and adherence to Diageo Standards and policies.

  • Knowledge in consumer data handling as most of the campaign/short term competition project does involve data capture(PII) within the project.

  • Knowledge in emerging technologies like AR, VR, Block-chain , etc

  • Have good overall understanding of the Consumer eco-system technologies, web, social media, marketing campaign, ecommerce platforms.
