This role is newly set up to meet the increasing business needs in Digital Marketing, Marketing Technologies, and Diageo owned CDP (Central Data Platform) related projects such as Tagging, CRM, 3rd platform resource and integration as well as eCommerce capability development.

About the Role

This role forms part of the APAC Marketing Procurement Team and is instrumental in the development and implementation of our Digital Category Strategy for APAC and sits in the stakeholder matrix of Diageo One Procurement Community, the global marketing function and the APAC in-market marketing leadership teams.

This role will be responsible for:

  • Build up a base of supply/external resources network to support Diageo’s digitalization.

  • Develop close partnerships with key stakeholders in the APAC region.

  • Connect with global category leaders, keeping them informed about APAC market’s nuances and downloading global view and expertise.

  • Develop Category strategies based on the supply market insight and business needs.

  • Lead project sourcing which may include the likes of AI(Artificial Intelligence) technology in marketing and ecommerce, and emerging new technology in consumer experience, and consultation services for transformation and process.

  • Drive BAU (business as usual) category management aspects such as such as RFX( Request for quotation/proposal), contract management, risk management, supplier performance management.

  • Deliver financial and non-financial KPI’s which include risk and governance, societal and sustainability targets (Diageo’s Society of Progress 2030 ambition)

  • Promote the highest standards of ethics and compliance consistently, displaying the Diageo Leadership Standards

The Success Factors

  • Marketing Category Procurement Management experience, Media or digital agency Category Experience would be preferred.

  • Experience in CRM, Content Platform and other AI enabled Digital Marketing Experience would be preferred.

  • Regional or Global experience, working with multiple markets or regions would be highly preferred.

  • Technical aptitude or expertise to be able to understand the workings under the hood for the capabilities being procured to be able to run RFPs to assess and finalize on the vendor solutions such as in the area of AI capabilities for chatbot, mar-tech solutions to extend our consumer engagement capabilities or measurement of marketing effectiveness.

  • Strong analytical capabilities, negotiation skills and commercial acumen to drive value and quality of delivery, along with service level with SLA.

  • Keen interest in digital and marketing technology sector, with an active pulse on the emerging trends and practical applications.

  • Able to effectively work and create visibility with diverse and remote cross-functional teams, and to influence and build relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders virtually.

  • Resilient and able to work in an agile, fast-moving environment and to keep up with pace of change and prioritize according to business needs.

  • Demonstrated performance in leading projects and teams, managing and negotiating with suppliers and experience developing and executing category and procurement strategies.

  • Ability to clearly communicate and articulate complex situations in simple terms to enable stakeholder engagement and buy-in
