JOB SUMMARY

As a CBRE People Generalist, you’ll be responsible for supporting various human resources initiatives, policies and procedures primarily within Total Rewards; assisting in the planning and roll-out of compensation programs and Learning & Development; responsible for working alongside business units or Lines of Business to identify learning needs and to provide appropriate solutions by designing, developing, and rolling out a variety of programs. You will also provide conflict resolution services, and communicate People/HR programs and policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Total Rewards

  • Support project management of payroll business continuity plan

  • Oversee HR transactions related to onboarding of new employees, status changes for existing employees, and terminations of employees.

  • Provide interpretation of HR policies and procedures as they relate to individuals and the company objectives.

  • Prepare reports and data to present to other areas of the business.

  • Communicate company and government rules, regulations, and procedures and the need for compliance to management and employees.

  • Stay current on federal and state employment laws.

Learning & Development

  • Administer training programs in three key areas: Learning Resources, Content and Curriculum Development, and Learning Platform Operations.

  • Identify needs and recommend thought-out solutions that meet CBRE learning demands.

  • When needed, suggest solutions and delivery methods to optimize knowledge transfer.

  • Partner with subject matter experts to update training materials, programs, and curriculums.

  • Create communication and marketing plans for new courses and training updates.

  • Ensure all new content is aligned with CBRE governance guidelines.

  • Use training metrics and feedback to evaluate learning effectiveness.

  • Stay current in learning industry trends, methodologies, and best practices and know how to put those into professional practice.

  • Have some knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience in applying them.

  • Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.

  • Have a broad knowledge of own job discipline and some knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.

  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.

  • Impact the quality of own work and the work of others on the team.

  • Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university and a minimum of 1 to 2 years of HR related experience.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) is advantageous.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

  • Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret business related documents and offer strong business solutions to clients.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, consultative and exceptional customer service skills and the ability to problem solve.

  • Ability to effectively respond to sensitive issues, complex inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, supervisor and/or management.

  • Ability to make effective presentations on general topics to an internal department, large group of employees, clients and/or management.

  • Ability to motivate employees and client groups to take desired action.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions including percentages, discounts and commissions. Ability to perform basic mathematical functions and prepare complex spreadsheets using Excel functions.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to solve problems and offer a variety of options and solutions.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

  • Strong Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills required. Knowledge of PeopleSoft.
