Saint-Gobain Warehouse Loader I in SEMORA, North Carolina
Job Description:
Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Loader 1 will operate a forklift to load board onto trailers and rail cars for shipment while inspecting for any defects and damages in the process.- This includes the ability to follow the Warehouse Directive (locate correct product) and able to correctly follow the pick list order (pull from correct locations to follow first in first out practices).
Essential Functions:
Perform all job duties with safety as the number one priority
Operate forklift to load board onto trailers and rail cars
Perform bagging of product for rail car deliveries
Identify product defects – last quality check before shipment
Use first in first out (FIFO) methodologies
Ability to learn how to diagram loads for truck and rail shipments
Follow Pick List Directive when removing product from the Warehouse
Follow product requested on bill of ladings to ensure correct product sent to customer
Load board correctly and carefully to ensure no damaged loads to the customer
Key contributor to the Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and other safety procedures needed in the Shipping and Receiving area
Possess knowledge of plant computer hardware and software to input and retrieve information
Establish and maintain the highest degree of housekeeping and 5S in all areas
Actively contributes to WCM (World Class Manufacturing) processes (Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing)
Takes responsibility for their work and actions
Safely lift wallboard, raw materials, and equipment as needed to perform duties
Read and demonstrates understanding of technical literature
Participate in pre-shift meetings
Offers suggestions or recommendations for improvement of plant equipment
Acknowledges others when spoken to in a professional manner
Resolves interpersonal differences in a professional manner
Abide by guidelines and procedures established by the plant
Perform other duties not listed above, but assigned at the Supervisor’s or Manger’s discretion
Requirements:
High School Diploma
Ability to work in a team-based environment with little to no supervision
Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing
Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
Manufacturing experience in a team-based environment
Mobile Equipment experience (1-3 Years) (Forklift – Standing/Sitting)
Familiarity with Safety Programs in a manufacturing facility
Warehouse / Shipping Experience (1-3 Years)
Basic Computer Skills for Training and Reporting needs
Familiar with any Lean Manufacturing Practices
