Alamo Group Inc. Accountant in Seguin, Texas
Position Summary:
This position supports the accounting function by assisting in providing timely and accurate information as designated by GAAP. The Accountant position works closely with the Facility Controller, Customer Service department, Purchasing department, Engineering, Dealers, Territory Sales Managers (TSM), and other internal operations personnel. The position performs numerous and varied tasks that support the Plant’s operations. It is a fast paced position and requires attention to detail and investigative skills. The Accountant position reports to the Plant Controller.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Handles the Return Materials Authorization (RMA) process and Annual Parts Return
Processes other credits, rebills, and adjustments as required
Processes engineering change notices
Input costs on new purchased and manufactured products.
Investigates and determines causes of variances
Performs margin analysis
Assists with collections when needed
Handles incoming phone calls from Dealers, Customers, and TSMs on various issues
Responsible for daily document management tasks (i.e. scanning, coding, etc)
May perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficient with software including Microsoft Excel & Word. JD Edwards familiarity a plus.
Able to organize and prioritize work
Computer data entry, query and analysis skills required.
Problem solving and troubleshooting skills required.
Familiarity with Cost and Managerial Accounting principles a plus
Familiar with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and have high ethical standards

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
1-3 years business accounting experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods.
Standard office environment. Use of stairs. Some stooping, reaching and bending to retrieve files, reports, etc.
Required to wear personal protective equipment while performing work in production area.
Able to work overtime as needed to complete job assignments.
