Blue Origin LLC Waterjet Operator II - Second Shift in Seattle, Washington

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for part development and operation for the OMAX waterjet system for various spaceflight components. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of producing accurate programs, setting up sheets for fabrication and production of parts enabling first article success on tight tolerance high value parts. Special Mentions: Second Shift: Monday - Thursday (3pm - 1:30am PST) Relocation Provided Additional responsibilities include: Development of machining strategy to take design data and produce machined hardware. Concept manufacturing plans Develop programs. Develop set-up sheets. Communicate with designers, engineers, and machinists. Provide design for manufacture feedback. Make-buy decision support + machine time estimates. Load and unload material into machine De-burr, de-tab and clean parts as required. Use and apply 2D CAD software to projects. Process improvement (both machining actual inputs and administrative process changes) Maintain configuration control on files and job records. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the machine. Safely working within an industrial environment Material sizing/nesting Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year of experience in OMAX Layout and programming or FLOW waterjet programming. Excellent blueprint reading skills. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new programs. Basic machine shop math skills. Tooling fixture design Set-up sheet creation Design For Manufacture experience Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Fluent in use of precision hand tools Individual must be self-motivating to prioritize work to meet project completion dates. Be able to maintain confidentiality. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: Stainless, carbon steel, and aluminum cutting and programming and understanding the fundamental differences. Ability to troubleshoot and maintain OMAX 55100 4' x 8' machine. Ability to provide maintenance forecasting, as well as maintenance services on OMAX 55100 pump and systems. Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware. Ability to work irregular shifts. Compensation range for onsite WA applicants is $29.03-$40.65. Other site ranges may differ. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.
