Job Summary This position serves as Health Share's Tribal Liaison to Native Nations and Indigenous Peoples, including Federally Recognized Tribal Governments of the three counties that Health Share serves. This position establishes and guides Health Share's strategy and practices to ensure an inclusive and equitable service delivery model and fosters better relationships between Health Share and Native Nations and Indigenous Peoples. This position connects Native American/American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian peoples with Health Share's care delivery systems to improve physical, behavioral, and dental health of Indigenous members across Health Share and its plan partners. It leads efforts to identify and support tribal community-centered activities to increase accountability, effective collaboration, and consultation with tribal entities and partners with Health Share collaborative staff and management to deliver effective outcomes. In addition to the formal government to government role, this position creates pathways for community-based organizations that serve Native communities residing in the Health Share service region to help shape programs, policy decisions, and funding priorities. Essential Responsibilities Collaboration and Outreach Promote and foster better relationships between Health Share and Native Nations and Indigenous Peoples by engaging in transparent and consistent communications. Lead efforts to identify and support tribal community-centered activities to increase accountability, effective collaboration, and consultation with tribal entities. Partner with Health Share collaborative staff and management to deliver effective outcomes. Develop an outreach and implementation plan centered on making visible and honoring the history and celebrating the continued existence and prosperity of Native Nations in Oregon, and particularly the tribes whose ancestral homelands are the territories within Health Share's service area. In addition to the formal government to government role, create pathways for community-based organizations that serve Native communities residing in Health Share's service region to help shape programs, policy decisions, and funding priorities. Provide tribal consultation and serve as the subject matter expert to Health Share collaborative in the areas of tribal history, tribal recognition, formal tribal consultation, customs, protocols, and service delivery to Native communities. Educate community partners, stakeholders, media, and the public on issues critical to the Federally Recognized Tribes and organizations. Establish and maintain strong relationships with Federally Recognized Tribal Governments for the Health Share Board of Directors, Health Share's Community Advisory Council, and Health Share collaborative programs to advance agendas using equity-centered and inclusive design practices and tools. Serve as a liaison between
