Tax Senior for Deloitte Tax LLP in Seattle, WA to assist clients with managing state tax liability and such challenges as states with unique tax laws, the enforcement focus of state departments of revenue, the growing number of audits, and increased merger and acquisition activity. Provide services relating to business restructuring, credits and incentives, sales and use tax, sales and use tax outsourcing, state income and franchise tax, state strategic tax review, and state tax controversy. Provide compliance and consulting services to business and individual clients. Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Assist with overseeing complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries, as well as research and analyze a wide range of tax issues, including deferred tax liability issues and tax implications of financing techniques, for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Offer unique insight into the many factors affecting taxation, from the tax policies that drive federal tax legislation, to understanding the technical nuances that may create compliance exposure. Assume tax-planning responsibilities for corporate and individual clients. Requires: Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus eighteen months as a Tax Senior or related occupation gaining experience applying federal, state, and local tax rules to corporate and individual clients. Experience must include eighteen months of: providing income and franchise tax consulting, tax planning, state tax audit defense, and income tax accounting services for multistate companies; preparing and filing withholding and composite returns for C-Corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies in multi-state jurisdictions; preparing and reviewing state income tax extensions, quarterly estimates, K-1s, and returns for pass-through entities and corporations based on varying state regulations for the apportionment of income and nexus creating activities; analyzing clients' sales, payroll, and property information for each state, and computing the state apportionment percentage; performing state taxation services, including state apportionments, modifications and state and local credits calculation, based on varying state regulations; providing due diligence for state-related tax matters, including mergers and acquisition as well as restructuring; identifying critical tax matters from state legislation, applying to clients, and assisting clients with compliance and assisting with mediating between clients and state revenue departments to resolve state tax notices, audit, and other tax-related issues/inquiries; preparing complex tax technical memos, responding to Information Document Requests (IDRs) and various tax notices; and performing tax research utilizing tax software and tools, including Corptax, CJETT, Matrix tool, CCH Smart charts, Checkpoint Smart charts, GoSystem, Superforms, and BNA. Salary: $77,700.00 - $144,300.00/year.
