Prime Air is seeking an experienced engineer who can dive deep technically and with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person must be comfortable working with a team of top-notch hardware, software and systems engineers to develop and refine system test strategy.

Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Key job responsibilities

The ideal candidate will help the team in the following ways:

  • Support test fixture requirements generation, architecture and build

  • Work with cross functional teams in the successful delivery of test systems/fixtures

  • Test equipment setup and checkout.

  • Support architecture/design of system and subsystem test fixtures and test execution.

  • Influence overall test strategy by helping define system test requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

  • Experience in design, verification or test within the aerospace or other safety critical industries

  • Hands on experience in system troubleshooting

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in design, verification or test within the aerospace or other safety critical industries

  • Experience in reviewing and developing test plans and procedures

  • Experience developing test architecture of a complex system

  • Experience creating requirements-based test procedures for complex systems

  • Experience in communication protocols such as CAN, RS232, UART, Ethernet

  • Experience integrating and operating data acquisition systems and sensors on test system

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Continually seeks to innovate with new and better processes

  • Experience with DO-160 EMI test procedures

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
