Your primary responsibility as a Survey Researcher on the Reputation Marketing & Insights team will be to jointly manage a global reputation tracking survey. The work will challenge you to be resourceful, think big while staying connected to the details, translate advanced analytics into strategic direction, and embrace a high degree of change and ambiguity at speed. The scope and scale of what we strive to achieve is immense, but it is also meaningful and energizing. This is an individual contributor role.

The right candidate possesses endless curiosity and passion for understanding perceptions and what drives them. You have end-to-end experience conducting robust large-scale surveys, as well as strong analytical skills. You have proficiency in diving deep into large amounts of data and combining multiple data points to translate research into actionable insights/recommendations. You are an excellent writer who can effectively communicate data-driven insights and recommendations through written documents, presentations, and other internal communication channels. You are a creative problem-solver who seeks to deeply understand the business/communications so you can tailor research that informs stakeholder decision making and strategic messaging tactics.

Key job responsibilities

• Design and manage the execution of a global perception tracking survey

• Identify messaging opportunities and inform communication strategies that will bolster Amazon’s reputation

• Engage in strategic discussions with partner teams to ensure our research generates actionable and on-point findings

• Scale learnings and insights to other teams in GCCI and the broader Amazon marketing and communications community

• Identify opportunities to simplify existing research processes and operate more nimbly

About the team

This team sits within the Global Communications and Community Impact (GCCI) organization. Our focus is on conducting research that identifies messaging opportunities and informs communication strategies for Amazon as a brand.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of quantitative/qualitative market research experience, including survey design and execution

  • 5+ years of experience using quantitative and qualitative research data to make political, business, or communications decisions

  • Experience in brand/reputation tracking

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate research to executive leaders and audiences that do not have a technical background

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and autonomously

  • Proven ability to work in an interdependent team and develop processes at scale

  • Detail-oriented, with an ability to move fast and adapt to change

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field

  • Experience working with global cross-functional teams

  • A strong track record of research vendor management

  • Experience using data visualization tools

  • Ability to propose advanced analyses to uncover deeper trends and relationships in the data

  • Ability to translate results from statistical models into digestible reports, tables, and graphs

  • Experience with statistical techniques used for survey design and analytics (e.g., Chi-square, Conjoint, MaxDiff)

  • SQL and/or R experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
