Business Unit Introduction Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance: This role is part of the Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance team. This team is focused on monitoring and assessing processes that guide Blue Origin's design, manufacturing, and operations, ensuring system safety engineering, environmental health, and safety, product integrity, and continuous improvement processes. As part of hardworking team of diverse specialists and engineers, you will develop and execute supplier quality processes for the design, test and manufacture of launch vehicles, spacecraft, and related technologies for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of Supplier Quality Management processes. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight from the Blue Origin production site in Kent, Washington or Merritt Island, Florida. Passion for our mission and vision is absolutely required. If you have direct experience with Supplier Quality organizations, either as a customer or supplier, and a thorough understanding of supply base quality related topics, let us know! Special Mentions Relocation provided. Travel expected up to 50% of the time. Interviews will include a technical assessment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Evaluate suitability and stability of current and potential suppliers regarding quality and technical capability. Lead suppliers through resolving discrepancies, including corrective and preventive actions as well as recovery plans. Drive quality improvement and nonconformance reduction activities at the supplier Support program reviews with key suppliers to ensure understanding of long-term business objectives. Communicate supplier performance to senior management. Participate in supplier pre-ship reviews, quality audits, hardware acceptance and corrective actions. Minimum Qualifications 10+ years' industry experience in a manufacturing field with at least 5 years in a supplier quality role Travel expected up to 50% of the time and have a valid driver's license. Quality assurance experience in an aerospace production environment, including relevant experience in AS9100 requirements and auditing techniques. Self-initiation and excellent time management skills Proficiencies to stay closely connected to your leadership structure and operational customers while working in the field at suppliers or remotely. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications Technical background and experience with one or more of the following aerospace commodities: machined parts (preferably with bellows and flex hoses), valves and fluid controls, avionics, electronics, composites, assembly practices, castings and forgings, tooling, or chemical processing. Relevant experience in transitioning a product from development through production operations.
