Blue Origin LLC Spring 2025 Software Engineering Intern - Graduate in Seattle, Washington

Interns work directly with our experienced engineers on projects in support of our business units. Internships are full time, 15 weeks. Intern projects may involve many aspects of applied SW development including, but not limited to the following: Aerospace Software Applications - share in the team's impact on all aspects of design, develop, and testing of software used to "fly" rockets on mission operations without ever leaving the launchpad! Every day, you will innovate to build the frameworks and tools needed to integrate various spaceflight systems with model simulations. Your expertise will directly contribute to building real time simulations, user experience with front ends, restful backends, automated platforms, hybrid cloud infrastructure, and tooling. Avionics Software - contribute to the design, development and testing of avionics hardware and software for programs ranging from orbital rockets, ground systems, test stands, to moon landers. Mission Control Software - contribute to ground software systems and tools that enable us to test and fly our vehicles. You'll join our team as we work to continuously improve our product, internal tools, and processes with the goal of automating and testing everything in order to make it fast and make it scale. Enterprise Technology - this role is part of Enterprise Technology (ET), where we're developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, with an emphasis on digital capabilities required to advance Blue Origin's mission. As an intern, you will contribute to Enterprise Technology which is the center of excellence for digital technology at Blue Origin. Basic Qualifications: Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Currently enrolled in a graduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship. Completed at least one year of full-time coursework post high school graduation at the time of application (obtained sophomore standing). Available to work full time for a minimum of 15 weeks while not concurrently enrolled in coursework. Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills. Passion for mission and vision. Relevant internship/co-op and academic project experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills as well as leadership qualities. Hands-on project experience. Experience with software verification & testing. Exposure to CI/CD. Software coding experience in one or more of the following: C, C++, Python, Java Script, Shell, Rust. Experience with embedded software. Spark and SQL experience. Robotics programming. ARINC Standards, UML/SW Design. Flexibility and Adaptability. Ability to work as a member of a team.
