Amazon Senior Technical Business Development Manager, Amazon in Seattle, Washington

We're on a journey to building the most wonderful automotive shopping experience in the auto industry and are seeking strategic partnership professionals to help us realize that dream.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager-Tech (Senior BDM-T) to source, negotiate, execute enterprise contracts, and manage strategic technology and industry partnerships within the automotive industry as part of our new automotive shopping experience.

As a Senior BDM-T, you will be responsible for executing strategic relationships for the vehicle sales team, from start to finish. You will help source and qualify partners, work with our product and tech teams to assess and select partners, negotiate deal terms, execute contracts, and manage ongoing relationships. You should have proven analytical capabilities and project management skills, significant experience negotiating complex contracts with large organizations, strategic thinking skills and strong business intuition, and the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task . You must be an effective communicator and you will be expected to drive relationships with key stakeholders, including executives at 3Ps, product teams, tech teams, legal and finance.

Using your deep knowledge of the automotive landscape, your technology acumen, and your solution-oriented mindset, you will help drive the key relationships that will result in a wonderful automotive shopping experience on Amazon.

This role may require business travel to dealer locations

Key job responsibilities

1) Generate dealer leads through leveraging other areas of business in Amazon and or networking at industry events with the dealer groups

2) Identify opportunities for business growth and expansion within the dealer groups in the industry.

3) Foster strong relationships with dealers and dealer groups to ensure a collaborative and productive partnership.

4) Build and nurture strong relationships with dealers, addressing concerns, and promoting a positive partnership environment.

5) Keeping up with the latest industry developments, including market positioning of corporate competitors

A day in the life

This role will play a critical part in scaling and expanding our program. Initially, this role will work to reach out to our first dealers through pitching Amazon value proposition to onboarding. As the program evolves, this role will focus on building scalable processes and playbooks like creating business development playbook starting from lead generation and vetting to onboarding. An ideal candidate is analytical, autonomous, and cross functionally collaborative with effective communication skills.

We are a newly formed team with a vision to create innovative discovery and shopping experiences on Amazon, providing customers better convenience and more selection. We’re collaborating with other experienced teams at Amazon to define the future of how customers research and shop for products in the complex automotive space.

Arlington, VA, New York, NY, Seattle, WA

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional or military experience

  • Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations

  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level

  • 2+ years of experience with sales tools such as Digital Retail, Desking, CRM (Salesforce) or similar software

  • 2+ years of experience developing and executing GTM strategies

  • 2+ years of experience building scalable processes and sales playbooks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience working with technical and product stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize features, and influence product roadmaps

  • Experience with business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business

  • Automotive industry experience is highly preferred

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
