Create Solutions that will enable a better tomorrow We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Coastal Engineer to join our team. You will provide high-level, senior technical expertise to projects and develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve the Company's engineering practices in the Coastal Engineering field. Your key responsibilities will be to: Contribute to projects by leading and performing multiple tasks requiring a broad and deep knowledge in the field of coastal engineering Develop and implement design best practices in coastal engineering, including development and implementation of needed technical expertise Perform development of metocean design criteria, coastal and estuarine hydraulics, the design and construction of coastal structures, dynamic mooring analyses, and the physical and numerical simulation of coastal processes Carry out project management functions per the Company quality system including, but not limited to project scheduling, resource management, project budget controls, and client sub-contractor management and interfacing Achieve targets for budget, quality, and client/staff satisfaction on own assignments Participate in business development and marketing activities for the Company including identifying, tracking, positioning, and pursuing project opportunities, and representing the Company in external settings including technical committees, conferences, seminars, professional bodies, and business groups Your skills. On top of that, you will have: A M.S. or higher degree in Coastal Engineering or related A Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in home state, or ability to obtain within a year A minimum of 10 years of previous related engineering, project management, and business development experience with an emphasis on metocean design criteria, hydraulics, the design and construction of coastal structures, dynamic mooring analyses, and the physical and numerical simulation of coastal processes Experience with scripting, scientific and coastal engineering software, such as MIKE 21, OPTIMOOR, XBEACH, QGIS, and Python Demonstrated and recognized experience as a technical leader in the industry, along with prior experience preparing proposals, identifying messages for communication, and outlining strategic focus areas A place to work and so much more At COWI, we work together with our customers to shape a sustainable and liveable world.
