This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-liftorbital launch vehicle capable ofroutinelycarrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar,and beyond.Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designedfrom the beginningto be human-capable. The Project Manager for the component test team directly impacts the successful and safe flight of New Glenn, a heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit and beyond. In this role you will be a critical and important part of a passionate and accomplished team that specializes in testing pressurized and cryogenic components and subsystems. There are a few keys to success in this role. Combine program management, engineering fundamentals, and hazardous testing experience to anticipate roadblocks and act to prevent them with a bias for action. Demonstrate customer focus and align the needs of our customers with the capabilities of our team. Produce high-quality schedules and project plans to build the foundation for the team's future success in holding strict deadlines. Identify inefficiencies in process, deficiencies in testing capabilities or quality, and concerns with safety and lead their improvement through collaboration with stakeholders with professionalism and dedication. that in safely delivering on-time test results and data. Qualifications B.S. Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Management, Engineering Management or similar 2+ years' experience program, business, or project management in a development environment. High level understanding of aerospace component testing (types of tests, test-life-cycle, etc.). Experience leading multidisciplinary development projects, including managing requirements, priorities, scope, schedule, and cost. Able to quickly build and navigate a professional network within a new organization, including with Responsible Engineers, buyers, other project managers, and other support personnel. Excellent written, communication and presentation skills. Experience with Project Management Tools such as MS Project, P6 Primavera or similar. Aptitude for hands-on problem solving, with a passion for spacecraft systems. Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Self-starter, strong bias for action and sense of ownership. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Passion for Blue Origin's mission: Millions of people living and working in space! Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: MBA or M.S. in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or systems engineering. Experience with launch vehicle development, production, and operations and aerospace qualification test programs. Experience with verification, integration, and test, of orbital launch vehicles or human rated spacecraft.
