Amazon Principal, Technical Program Manager, SecOps Risk in Seattle, Washington

Description

AWS Security Operations is looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager with deep technical expertise in security architecture, operations and program management to join us in building our complex risk mitigation program. This role will collaborate with engineers across AWS to design, coordinate, and drive security improvements that mitigate risk across AWS and Amazon.

The Principal TPM will make pivotal contributions to service team strategies and technical approaches. You will identify risks/opportunities in technical strategies or in engineering organization structure(s). Your role will involve providing guidance to Directors and VPs leading service teams

You must work with SecOps leadership and related Amazon Security teamx to develop and implement a long-term strategy for managing strategic risks. Your strategies enable teams to consistently drive detailed and risk-based decisions.

Key job responsibilities

AWS Security Operations is responsible for driving risk reduction for emergent post-launch security issues affecting AWS and Amazon’s corporate systems. With broad scale impact, you will operate with a high security bar, demonstrate ability to influence service team roadmaps, and build strategies that reduce risk at scale.

You will do this by proactively identifying complex and endemic security issues that require deep thought and analysis, challenging long held beliefs or previously accepted design decisions. Your mechanisms provide visibility into the most significant risks and highlight unhealthy ones to AWS's security leadership. Finally, you will use your information security expertise to champion and drive risk-based decisions across complex, multi-disciplinary programs to ensure Amazon properly manages security risk.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience

  • 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • 5+ years experience in at least two of the following areas: application security, security architecture, security engineering, incident response, or security operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in architectural design or system design independent of an architect

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience building and operating Application Security, Security Architecture, Threat Intelligence, Incident Response, or other security programs with hundreds of stakeholders and executive leadership visibility

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
