UW Medical Center-Northwest - Gamma Knife Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Patient Care Coordinator .

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Full time /100% FTE

  • Day shifts DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Gamma Knife Center , opening at the UW Medical Center-Northwest campus in July 2025, is dedicated to making comprehensive, compassionate outpatient brain disease treatment as comfortable as possible. Gamma Knife radiosurgery is a noninvasive or minimally invasive outpatient treatment and is an option for patients with conditions that would typically require brain surgery or whole-brain radiation. It is used to treat blood vessel problems, such as arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), and brain tumors, including acoustic neuromas, meningioma, pituitary tumors, cancers that originate in the brain and cancerous lesions that have metastasized from distant areas of the body. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as primary liaison for UWMC/UW Medicine and represents departmental physicians with the hospital, patient and family, referring physicians, outside agencies, staff from outside hospitals and general public by providing information and advice regarding UWMC hospital services

  • Triage medical information to Surgical Specialties Center, direct patients to appropriate services

  • Perform all functions of PCC, including reviewing and updating registration data, contacting insurance companies and review organizations

  • Provides clinic charges to current and prospective patients. Develop cash collection system for patient deposits and management of self-pay patients

  • Facilitate patient admission and post-discharge follow-up, acting as resource across the continuum. Assures complete records available for appointments, including medical records management, fax records management, preparation of satellite medical record and records request QUALIFICATIONS High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience ABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-NORTHWEST UW Medical Center is an acute care hospital located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
