Actalent Mechanical Designer in Seattle, Washington

Job Title: Mechanical DesignerJob Description

The Mechanical Designer leverages extensive buildings engineering expertise to produce high-quality project deliverables that align with both project requirements and expectations from project managers and clients. The role involves intricate mechanical design tasks focused on the built environment, encompassing HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems. The successful candidate will design mechanical systems under the guidance of a project manager and/or Professional Engineer, develop and prepare design documentation, perform necessary calculations, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver coordinated and constructible designs. This role also includes communicating with manufacturer reps and contractors to solve design challenges and providing contract documents that adhere to required codes and quality standards.

Hard Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • LEED Green Associate or LEED AP preferred

  • Experience in mechanical design for HVAC, piping, plumbing

  • Ability to prepare and review detailed mechanical drawings

  • Integration of design elements with various disciplines

  • Grocery Store Project Experience or Refrigeration Experience

  • 3+ Years of Electrical Design Experience

  • Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam

Soft Skills

  • Strong collaboration with project managers, engineers, and other team members

  • Effective communication with manufacturer reps and contractors

  • Continual skill enhancement through in-house and external training

  • Active participation in meetings and business-supportive initiatives

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Seattle, Washington and some days remote.

Work Environment

Hybrid work setup with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote per week
