Blue Origin LLC Machine Operator II in Seattle, Washington

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers you will contribute to the protection and packaging of hardware and tooling for various spaceflight systems in our Production Support Facility. As a Machine Operator II, you will share in the team's impact on all aspects of organization, protection, and optimization of hardware and tooling which flow through our factory. As a part of the Production Support Team, you will be responsible for end-to-end Project Management which will include intake, layout, design, and execution. This role requires effective communication skills, pristine attention to detail, and an eye for creating production scalable solutions. You will need to be a self-directed and a driven candidate that can take general direction from the Part Packaging and Protection Program Manager. Special Mentions Relocation Provided Shift: Monday - Thursday (5am - 3:30pm PST) Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Read and interpret engineering drawings. CNC system programming, both at the machine control and with offline software. Provide manufacturing feedback to design engineers. Work with team members and others using Lean/Continuous Improvement processes to develop and utilize process improvements that positively impact operations by reducing waste, reducing safety risks, and improving quality. Safely work within an industrial environment. Utilize interpersonal and communication techniques, working in a team environment, and dealing with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles. Designing and cutting protective parts for multiple business units showcasing the capabilities of the Production Support Facility. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Proficient in using Microsoft office suite applications. Ability using hand tools and precision measuring equipment. Experience programming, cutting, and marking precision parts using various CNC tools (router, laser, vinyl cutter) Experience with Mach 4 controller or the ability to train. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Geometric tolerancing (GD&T) 1-2 years' experience with CNC Machines. Understanding of laser optics and processes such as cutting, and part set up - including knowledge of laser safety practices. CNC online programming. (OSAAP products -- Blue Slicer, Blue Shadow; CAMaster - VcarvePRO) Candidate should have good Spatial Reasoning capabilities, looking for layout and buildup solutions in all projects. Experience with 5S methodology and lean initiatives. Familiarity/interest in Sign Making.
