The role is part of the In-Space Systems Business Unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit. As a Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) Engineer, you will directly contribute to the design, development, implementation and testing of Blue Ring GN&C subsystem. In a fast-paced dynamic environment, you will work closely with other GNC engineers to prototype new algorithms, perform analysis, implement GN&C Flight Software in a Model Based Development environment and work across subsystem boundaries to support integration and test activities. Special Mentions Relocation provided Travel expected up to 10% of the time Active TS or TS/SCI Clearance Strongly Desired Interviews will include a technical assessment Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Lead and take ownership of complex GN&C analysis, design and development tasks Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and analysts Contribute to the development of long-term strategies for improving GN&C system performance and capabilities Participate in the review and evaluation of existing GN&C algorithms, identifying potential areas for improvement or optimization Collaborate on the implementation of the software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing, on-vehicle functional testing and flight-testing for multiple vehicles Help troubleshoot GN&C performance anomalies in a 6DOF environment as well as in Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) facilities Collaborate with other stakeholders, such as systems engineers, software developers and project managers to integrate GN&C subsystem into overall vehicle designs and missions Minimum Qualifications Minimum 7 years of experience related to working GN&C for satellite/spacecraft applications B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering or related technical subject area. Direct experience synthesizing and prototyping new algorithms Experience with analytical and scripting tools: Matlab, LabView, Python, C++ Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment. Ability to perform data analysis using monte-carlo techniques and reduction and present technical information in a clear and compelling visual format. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications M.S. and/or PhD in Aerospace, Electrical, Physics, Systems Engineering or related technical subject area Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, standards and technical requirements. Experience developing GNC Flight Software using Matlab/Simulink autocode
