Amazon Content Developer, AWS Strategy and Operations, SMGS Ops - Sales Planning & Policy in Seattle, Washington

We drive the development of global policy, processes, and technology to support the rapidly-growing AWS Sales organization in sales planning activities. We are looking for an experienced content developer with proven experience designing and delivering process and technical content for a global audience. The Content Developer will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality content for AWS sales planning products and processes. You will play a vital role in making sure that the details of our processes and tooling are clearly described and easy to understand. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, strong program management skills, and technical aptitude that enables effective partnership with product and program managers. You'll participate in bringing to life topics like process mapping, data governance, and new tool launches.

Our audience includes sales operations employees, sales managers, and sales leadership as well as partner teams in data, revenue, and compensation teams. Our content helps them understand how teams operationalize the go-to-market strategy to support their teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, write, edit, and manage a robust library of clear, comprehensive, builder-facing content, including user guides, product how-to guides, FAQs, and support content.

• Partner deeply with cross-functional teams, including program and product management, support, external partners and subject matter experts to gather information and understand what’s required to author content to support our users.

• Ensure structure, organization, and attention to detail across all content for new launches is accurate, up-to-date, and complies with standards and consistent destinations where users access our content

• Assist in driving end-to-end communications strategies across multiple channel levers to successfully reach and inform sales planners of key updates and launches

Your work will help to promote a self-service approach, addressing knowledge gaps to reduce support inquiries and keeping pace of changes to processes, policy, and tools functionality. Our goal is to provide a trusted content that guides customers through our processes and answers questions before they arise.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years as a content developer, communications lead, or content strategist

• 3+ years of program or project management experience

• Bachelor's degree in English, technical writing, or related field, or comparable job experience

• Experience with web publishing and content management systems (HTML, wiki markup)

• Ability to be self-directed and effective working independently, yet equally comfortable contributing in a diverse team environment

• Ability to interact with different business groups and dive deep into scoping and driving content development assignments for topics that have not been tackled before

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years as a content developer or content strategist, with a focus on complex process flow and complex systems

• Outstanding skills in writing about complex technical and business subjects to a variety of audiences.

About the team

The SP2 team delivers global policy, program management, training & enablement, and customer support services to activate the AWS GTM strategy through construction of the “annual plan” and in-year adjustments.

Basic Qualifications

  • • 5+ years as a content developer, communications lead, or content strategist

  • • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures and policies or equivalent

  • Experience in finance, business management and sales operations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $169,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
