Role Summary
The Senior Resource Planning Analyst is a subject matter expert in airport operations planning and analysis at Alaska Airlines. As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions in complex analyses of staffing-related data and provides recommendations to address predictive modeling and analysis of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive benchmarking to support planning and operations for airports, contact centers and other frontline workgroups.
Key Duties
Acts as a subject matter expert in staff planning and analysis for airport, contact centers, and other frontline workgroups.
Exercises considerable judgment to make decisions in complex analysis of staffing-related data.
Makes recommendations to address predictive modeling and analysis of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive benchmarking to support staff planning and operations.
Applies deep knowledge in statistical modeling, data analysis, mining, and querying to develop statistical predictive models on complex, large-scale datasets, and creates customized reports and presentations for executive leaders.
Extracts data from large data sources including Oracle Enterprise Data Warehouse.
Manages projects to optimize staff planning in such a way as to balance safety, costs, productivity, operational reliability, and employee quality-of-life considerations.
Develops and implements systems and technology to produce decision support tools enabling leaders and stakeholders to take strategic action in staff planning.
Responsible for analyzing the company flight schedule to develop productive bids using advanced optimization software for ground-based staff that meet contractual requirements.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
4 years of experience in resource planning or scheduling, data analysis or related area.
Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Demonstrated expertise in problem identification, resolution, and comprehension and interpretation of technical procedures.
Excellent project management and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis.
High-performance orientation, ability to work well under pressure, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility.
Demonstrated expertise in Excel including pivot tables, graphs, and functions.
Experience with basic statistics (mean, median, mode, distribution, etc.), as well as relational databases, data modeling, mining, and trending.
Data-driven mindset and a proven history of continuous self-development.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical solutions to management.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
1 year of airport resource planning or scheduling experience.
Knowledge of IAM contractual provisions for scheduling, bidding, training, and pay.

Salary Range
$95,000 -- $142,600 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
