Account Technology Strategist Education

This strategic, leading role helps our Education customers with their unique challenges, designing the strategy and architecture to accelerate strong educational outcomes and ultimately contribute to a brighter future for students and educators alike. The Account Technology Strategist acts as a Chief Technology Officer for our Education clients, interacting with both educational and IT decision-makers to illustrate how Microsoft can help them meet their business and IT objectives. One of the goals is to expand influence and drive innovation for different departments and domains within educational institutions in the Netherlands.

In today's fast-evolving educational landscape, challenges such as teacher shortages and the need for flexible and personalized learning solutions are increasingly prominent. The Account Technology Strategist (ATS) is expected to work closely with schools and universities to develop and implement innovative solutions that address these issues. This includes leveraging technology to enhance teaching effectiveness, creating personalized learning pathways, and ensuring that institutions can meet the diverse needs of their students. Through strategic partnerships, building technical roadmaps, and a deep understanding of the education sector, the ATS will play a pivotal role in driving positive change and creating lasting impact.

Responsibilities

Digital Transformation Strategy

Understand the education sector, including industry trends and specific customer goals. Utilize Microsoft solution areas and partner solutions to build a 3-Horizon roadmap that enables the customer’s digital transformation and innovation agenda. Expand Microsoft relationships with educational institutions into strategic digital transformation partnerships.

Technology & Industry Thought Leadership

Reimagine the role of technology as a partner in business and innovation to drive the digital transformation agenda of our Education customers. Help them understand the impact of emerging and strategic technologies and inspire & influence them to see Microsoft technologies as the main enabler of educational innovation and societal impact. Bridge the value of technology with the challenges and gaps that the education industry currently face.

Business & Enterprise Architecture

Driving valuable partnerships with education customers to create a long-term strategy that links the business, technology, and educational needs of our customers to enable their educational transformation strategy and drive sustainable change. Sharing your broad knowledge of the Microsoft Platform, our competition, and the industry to create a vision of how Microsoft can be the customer’s best partner to take their business to new heights.

Technology Sales

Orchestrate technology sales activities to drive the digital transformation vision and roadmap of our Education customers with Microsoft technologies. Plan and orchestrate solution proposals and coordinate technology sales teams and customer account teams to provide the right solution to the customer.

Account Leadership

Be a Change Agent internally and externally to inspire and ideate about the possibilities that innovative technologies provide to drive the educational strategy and priorities of our customers. Own and strengthen the collaborative relationship with C-level, educational, and technology executives. Create an inclusive and supportive environment for your account team to be successful, embracing Microsoft’s philosophy of ‘come as you are, do what you love’!

Orchestration

Ability to manage and lead a diverse virtual matrix of teams across all areas of Microsoft To summarize the role: you are the CTO of Education for a sub-set of our most relevant customers working in strong collaboration with the Education Account Executives, the specialists and the Customer Success Account Managers to help the customer innovate with technology.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

  • Ability to build long-term Trusted Technology Relationships that result in solid and meaningful Strategic Technology conversations.

  • In-depth knowledge of customers’ Technology environments within the Education industry.

  • Experience in managing and leading a diverse virtual matrix of teams within a large organisation.

  • Language: Dutch speaking/ writing (Level B2 upwards), English proficiency.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Several years of experience in the Education & research industry.

  • Several years of experience in technical consultancy to drive digital transformation, and/or using technology to drive customer business outcomes.

  • Microsoft certifications are highly recommended (Azure fundamentals, Microsoft Data Fundamentals, Microsoft Security Fundamentals).

  • technical consulting, technical consultative selling, business consulting, practice building, or related technical/sales experience OR equivalent experience.
