Actalent Environmental Engineering Technician in Savannah, Georgia

Job Title: Environmental Engineering TechnicianJob Description

As an Environmental Engineering Technician, you will perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. You will communicate with the project manager, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractor’s representatives regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection results. Responsibilities include transporting material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis. You will prepare and submit data and observations in the form of written and digital reports as work is performed for daily transmittal. Additionally, you will maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas, assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites, adhere to strict safety standards, and ensure the maintenance of quality standards on all projects.

Hard Skills

  • Perform field inspections for construction sites sampling air, stormwater/groundwater, soil, etc.

  • Able to read civil construction plans as they relate to stormwater

  • Eligible to obtain NPDES certification (Level 1A - 'Blue Card'/Level 1B - 'Red Card')

  • Complete/prepare daily data reports for onsite inspections

Soft Skills

  • Clear documentation of findings and results

  • Effective communication with project management and team members

  • Adherence to safety rules and practices

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Savannah, Georgia.

Work Environment

Work alongside other environmental field inspectors on construction sites from Dublin, GA - Savannah, GA. You will receive a company truck and company gas card. Working hours are 8 AM - 5 PM with some overtime, averaging 50 hrs a week.
