Universal Health Services Dietary/Housekeeping Manager- Behavioral Health in SAVANNAH, Georgia

Coastal Harbor Health System is comprised of a 114-bed hospital for children and adolescents, providing both short- and long-term inpatient care, and a 50 bed inpatient hospital serving men and women, ages 18 and up. Coastal Habor Health Systems is currently seeking a Fulltime Dietary/Housekeeping Manager the ideal candidate will:

Provide high standard of foods, serving areas, and eating areas for the facility by performing the following duties:

Job Requirements for Dietary:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for the department within the scope of the organization’s policies and procedures.

  • Consult with facility administrator and dietitian regarding menus and ensures compliance with state licensing standards and individual student/resident needs. Assist dietitian with menu planning and calculation of special diets according to physician orders.

  • Assign and coordinate workload of employees to promote efficiency of operations.

  • Supervise and assist in serving meals.

  • Inspect kitchen and dining areas, and kitchen utensils and equipment, to ensure sanitary standards are met.

  • Maintain all necessary records, including information such as quantity and cost of meals served, hours worked by employees, supply inventory,

  • Requisition, purchase, and inspect food items, supplies, and equipment to maintain proper stock levels and ensure standards of quality are met, , in coordination with the Dietary Manager.

  • Prepare work schedules, train, and evaluate work performance of employees in coordination with the Dietary Manager.

  • Direct preparation of food and beverages and assist in preparation, as necessary.

  • Maintain a safe working environment by following all safety and sanitation procedures, including the use of Standard Precautions, proper storage, and use of chemicals, and properly securing the Food Service area. Also demonstrates knowledge and trains staff in use of Material Safety Data

  • Provide positive, professional role modeling and maintains appropriate boundaries with clients at all times.

    Job Requirements for Housekeeping:

    Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the facility and daily upkeep of public areas and supervision of the Housekeeping Department.

  • Interview and hire staff for the department, maintaining an adequate number of people who meet the department’s needs.

  • Schedule employees to provide three workers daily, avoiding overtime.

  • Ensure that the facility is kept clean at all times.

  • Maintain budget for supplies and meets budget goals. Order specialty items as needed.

  • Make daily rounds of the facility to ensure that areas needing attention are cared for by the staff responsible for the area.

  • Counsel employees and take corrective action when needed.

  • Train new housekeeping staff to perform their duties outlined on their job description.

  • Complete initial and annual performance appraisals in a timely manner, addressing strengths and weaknesses.

  • Post work schedules and cleaning schedules well in advance of effective date.

  • Maintain Coastal Behavioral Health clothing inventory including washing, labeling, and sorting donated clothing

  • Maintain Material Safety Data Sheet for facility, updating, as necessary.

    Qualifications

    Job Requirements:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years previous experience and/or training in Food Service Management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
