Description

Amazon is seeking a creative, high-judgment, strategic, well-connected, and self-motivated Public Relations (PR) professional, to join our Corporate Communications PR team in São Paulo, Brazil.

This position will be responsible for managing proactive campaigns and supporting reactive communications, as well as driving media engagement across our operations.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications in Brazil, this position will partner and collaborate with key business leaders and stakeholders, designing, developing, and executing communications on different topics such as sustainability, economic impact & community engagement, logistics, workplace, and employee benefits.

The ideal candidate is a creative and strategic storyteller who is results-oriented with excellent English and Portuguese communication skills, and has the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, establishing relations with media and other external audiences. The candidate should have experience developing and leading brands and/or corporate communication programs, agencies and budgets with high standards and flexibility to manage ambiguity as priorities change.

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need excellent communication skills, exemplary business writing abilities, exceptional initiative, and a talent for ownership, leadership, and partnership.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic communications and public relations programs to drive Amazon’s reputation among external key stakeholders in the country such as government officials, thought leaders, local associations, and media opinion leaders.

• Develop and execute corporate comms campaigns, reputational reports, announcements, launches, and evergreen contents.

• Manage workstreams with diverse external agencies

• Create holistic campaigns in earn, paid, owned ecosystem.

• Be responsive and strategic in managing potential local issues related to Amazon’s reputation.

• Develop mechanisms to help scale coverage, tracking, media relations, and other core team functions.

• Successfully manage fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges.

• Write strategic business plans that include campaigns and tactics, coordinating and supervising the work with the agency.

• Lead the development of press materials & PR features, such as media pitches, press releases, blogs, visuals, and infographics, among others.

• Ability and willingness to travel to locations across Brazil and Americas.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in both Portuguese and English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Public Relations experience preferably in Corporate and Sustainability Communications.

  • Excellent media relations, especially with Business and General media.

  • Team player who is willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.

  • Attention to detail and bias for action.

  • Experience developing mechanisms or processes to help simplify work.

  • Ability to earn trust with diverse, multidisciplinary stakeholders.

  • Ability to successfully partner with teammates located around the world.
