Job Description

Danfoss is looking for an experienced Sr Supervisor based in our Queretaro Plant As our new Sr Supervisor , you will be responsible for Manage and direct the Heat Treatment & Special processes team to ensure the achievement area goals focusing on employee safety, product quality, on-time delivery, productivity, lean manufacturing, environmental impact reduction and cost-out activities.

Role will also be responsible for a direct and indirect production operations team to meet customer objectives outside HT & SP area.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Drive accountability for all commodities with HT & Special Processes responsibility.

  • Lead product introductions to site with a focus on people, safety, quality, productivity and scheduling material.

  • Establish and monitor overall HT & SP performance for production and quality standards.

  • Must participate in designing and implementing continuous improvement processes for the area.

  • Accountable for plant throughput, on-time performance, quality, and productivity for HT & SP; manage the metallurgical laboratory to provide continuous service to HT & SP production and give support for other areas as is needed.

  • Develop subordinates to optimize their performance and their personal and professional growth.

  • Assure proper training and development of manufacturing associates at all levels.

  • Make sure all departmental and individual goals are directly aligned with overall plant goals.

  • Establish good working atmosphere with strong ethics and maintain a good working relationship with the union.

  • Foster teamwork between departments and within the department.

  • Address unsafe acts, unsafe condition and hazards in respective work area(s), and ensuring corrective actions.

  • Complete assigned action items on SEH action plan; participate in SEH risk analysis for departments; report to maintenance any energy spills; achieve near misses/gemba goal and close them on time.

  • Assume and motivate responsibility and accountability across the organization related with quality management system effectiveness.

  • Promote risk prevention/assessment and process attachment thinking across productive and functional areas.

  • Communicate and promote awareness of an effective quality management system and the accomplishment of its requirements.

  • Build Organizational Capability thorough empowering functional areas while providing overall direction and accountability in accordance with Business Values and Philosophies.

  • Responsibility to ensure that customer requirements are met.

  • Determines and considers the risks and opportunities that may affect the conformity of products and services and the ability to increase customer satisfaction.

  • Review the context of the Organization / stakeholders, as necessary and report any changes.

  • Supporting other relevant management roles to demonstrate their leadership as it applies to their areas of responsibility.

  • Present results in relation to the effectiveness of the Quality Management system in daily, weekly or annual meetings, Staff meetings.

  • Ensure that processes are generating and providing the intended outputs.

  • Escalate nonconforming product identification as critical.

  • Authorizes changes to the Quality System.

  • Redefine departmental goals and objectives.

  • Support and/or participate on Continuous Improvement Activities such as: TIPs, Kaizen Blitz, Cost out and/or demonstrate improvements in goals year over year in our processes or practices aligned to achieve or business goals and/objectives.

  • Ensure activities are in compliance with the QMS (ISO-9001 e IATF16949) and quality policy and also aligned with the strategic direction of the organization and business context.

  • Ensure quality management system (ISO-9001 e IATF16949) requirements and resources are fully integrate and available within all business process.

  • Any other activity that your immediate supervisor designates.

  • 10 years of experience Manufacturing / Operations Environment

  • Bachelor Degree in Industrial / Mechanical / Metallurgy / Materials Engineering or similar

  • Fluent English

  • Production Ovens Mantainance

  • Manufacturing Processes (Machining, grinding, Treatments, coatings, welding, etc.)

  • FMEA

  • Financial knowledge in accounting and/or costs. And understanding of budgets and cost drivers

  • General knowledge of ISO/IATF 16949

  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification

  • Ergonomics and occupational health

  • Lean Tools/Continuous Improvement

  • Accident investigation and troubleshooting

  • Statistical methods and tools

  • Six Sigma

  • Phosphating Theory
